LIFESTYLE & PORTRAIT
The science of light frames the creative space that is photography — a perfect blend of art and science. Add a human subject and you have a relational element as well. Whether it's a mother to a daughter, or the subject to the photographer themselves — the ability to capture a human moment is a science and art unto itself. These following photos are a few human moments I've been privilidged to capture.

STREET & CANDID
"Photographers deal in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back again." — Henri Cartier-Bresson, father of street photography. Street photography is a divisive topic amongst photographers but I believe it obtains the purest form of photography — the fleeting, unscripted present made permanent.

TRAVEL & LANDSCAPE
I picked up my first serious camera before an excursion through Scottish highlands and small English towns. Though very different, both settings inspired me to be more intentional with my landscape photos. I want others to feel the stillness of a Tuscan morning walk and experience the unspeakable beauty of sunrise on the pale mountains.

PROJECTS & WRITING
A cohesive series of photos allows a deeper and broader contemplation of the human experience. Marry the photos to thoughtful writing and you have one of the most powerful narrative mediums. This story telling aspect of photography is a recent passion of mine and one I hope to expand on. In this section you will find both strictly photo projects and those that mix photography and writing.

DOWNTOWN GREENVILLE, SC
The crowning achievement for Greenville, SC is their downtown. In 2014 I had the privilidge of working with the mayor's office to capture downtown Greenville as a human space and not just beautiful architecture and nature. The resulting set of photos is used for presentations about Greenville given to other mayors looking to revitalize their own cities.

THE BURNING MOUNTAIN
The Dolomites of nothern Italy are a rare breed of mountains. Their magnificient peaks hide a bloody past and shelter a unique breed of people. This travel memoir starts in stormy Verona, Italy and ends on a windy hilltop as the sun rises on the Sella group.

ABOUT &
CONTACT
I am dedicated to the art and craft of telling human stories and documenting human experiences — the human element inspires and informs my work. I started with a few manual-focus lenses on a well used Sony Nex5N which laid a solid technical foundation and gave me freedom to build my artistic expression. The Nex5N is long gone as are most of the manual lenses (I'll never part with my Canon FDn 50mm 1.4) but my passion and skill are here to stay. I'm currently available for LIFESTYLE, WEDDING, and PORTRAITURE.
CONNECT The best way to reach me is via EMAIL or but you can also check out my 500PX, scroll through my INSTAGRAM feed, or check out my pins on PINTEREST.
PRICING As of Spring 2016 — WEDDINGS start at $1,300. ENGAGEMENT sessions start at $200. BRIDAL portraits start at $200. FAMILY sessions start at $100.
THANKS & COLOPHON This site would not be possible without the wonderful fullpage.js plugin by ÁLVARO TRIGO, and the useability tests and feedback provided by AARON DICKEY and DAN DIETZ. I'm also indebted to DAN JEFFORDS for letting me field numerous questions.
PLAYFAIR DISPLAY by Claus Eggers Sørensen is the typeface used for section titles. Sørensen has this to say about the typeface: "Playfair is a transitional design. From the time of enlightenment in the late 18th century, the broad nib quills were replaced by pointed steel pens. This influenced typographical letterforms to become increasingly detached from the written ones. Developments in printing technology, ink, and paper making, made it possible to print letterforms of high contrast and delicate hairlines. As the name indicates, Playfair Display is well suited for titling and headlines. It has an extra large x-height and short descenders. . . Being a transitional design, stylistically Playfair can accompany Georgia, where Georgia is used for body text."
